Why use a Sports Mouthguard?
Tooth damage resulting from sports injuries can cause a series of dental problems that can last from a few months to a lifetime. A minor chip can be repaired by your dentist for a cost of around $100. Root canals followed by dental post and crowns can cost several
thousand dollars. The upper end of the price range occurs when a tooth is lost resulting in a dental bridge or implant. Add to this the pain, suffering and inconvenience associated with the accident, as well as the time spent having the dental treatment.
The time and effort needed to have Dr. Stacie Fenderson fit athletes with Sports Mouthguards is minor compared to the cost, time and suffering associated with a tooth injury. We recommend that active team members that are listed on a coach’s sports roster of a local school, take advantage of this exciting offer for a Free Sports Mouthguard. |
Care of Your Sports Mouthguard
Tooth Mouthguards really don’t need much care, but here are some points to keep in mind:
• Athletic mouthguards are made from plastic that can distort and deform if exposed to heat. Keep your mouthguard out of direct sun, the heat inside a car, hot water, or a hot surface
• Gently scrub with a toothbrush after wearing.
• Store in a hard, perforated case.
• Do not chew on your mouthguard as your teeth will rip, tear and pierce the mouthguard compromising the level of protection it offers.
Sports Mouthguards Wear Out
Mouthguards will show signs of wear as time goes by. You may discover holes, rips, or tears or the fit may become slack. It is necessary to replace the mouthguard when this occurs.
Replacement cost: $150.00
